The production won the 2003 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical A Man of No Importance tells the story of an amateur group of thespians called the St. Imelda’s Players. The dedicated performers are determined to stage the controversial “Salome” at their local church. However, the play’s racy subject matter angers church authorities. In the process of fighting for the play, each of the characters must face their own demons and prejudices. Plenty of laughs, pathos and an incredible score. . Still Looking for: LEADS (Full scenes with solos and featured songs) Robbie Faye – Late 20’s- Early 30’s baritone to high tenor - Bus Driver -good looking. Among his featured songs is The Streets of Dublin a powerhouse tune that is being done in Cabaret shows across the country. Adele Rice - 20’s – Soprano, new in town, scared and shy. Offered to play the part of a princess. Featured songs include: SUPPORTING (Full characters with scenes and featured solos) Ernie Lally – Age open – Prop master – Baritone/tenor. (In our production this character will be one of two featured soloists who help to narrate the story.) Mrs. Patrick – 40, pretty –having an affair with Robbie Faye – Soprano. (In our production this character will be one of two featured soloists who help to narrate the story.)
